چکیده
Abstract Background A series of nonlinear finite element (FE) analyses was performed to evaluate the different design approaches available in literature for reinforced concrete deep beam with large opening. Three models were developed and analyzed using computer software ATENA. The three FE beams made details based on approaches: (Kong, F.K. Sharp, G.R., Magazine Concrete Res_30:89-95, 1978), (Mansur, M. A., Design web openings, 2006), Strut Tie method (STM) as per ACI 318-14 (ACI318 Committee, Building Code Requirements Structural (ACI318-14), 2014). Non Linear Finite Element Method of Analysis of Reinforced Concrete Deep Beam
ABSTRACT: This paper describes analysis of deep beams subjected to two point loading with three different L/D ratios (1.5, 1.6, 1.71) using Non-linear Finite element method (ANSYS 9.0 software) in order to investigate the stress and strain distribution pattern at mid-section of the beam. In ANSYS 9.0 software, SOLID 65 and LINK 8 element represent concrete and reinforcing steel bars. Non-linear...
متن کاملFinite element analysis of a rigid beam to column connection reinforced with channels
Abstract: This research work presents a new rigid connection constructed with channels. In order to assess its hysteresis behavior, three specimens with different cover plates and six specimens with different panel zone thickness have been considered. The energy absorbed by the connection and the behavior of the panel zone were studied during cyclic loading and compared with those of connectio...
متن کاملFinite Element Analysis of Reinforced Concrete Column Under Lateral Load
To serve its purpose a structure must be safe against collapse and serviceable in use. Serviceability requires that deflections be adequately small to keep the cracks within tolerable limits. Although the widely followed ACI Code suggests a detailed method of deflection calculation, it often cannot exactly perceive the actual behavior of a structure. For this purpose, finite element analysis, u...
متن کاملFinite Element Analysis of Bond for Reinforced Concrete Structures
A high-resolution finite element model is developed using the MSC.Marc software package to investigate local bond behavior and the modeling of this behavior. In the model, interaction between concrete and steel is treated geometrically as contact between two separate bodies. Concrete is modeled as a homogenous material. A multiple, fixed, smeared crack model is used to simulate response in tens...
